The Point of Origination

By Carolyne Mathlin

In Mutual Awakening, the foundation of our contact inside shared unity is what we call the Origination Point. Everything that arises originates here, inside this point of emergence. Every sensation, perception, word, movement, and direction we take together begins from this contact inside unity.

Typically, when people first hear about the Origination Point, they assume it’s something like the soul or a divine spark within the self. It’s also often assumed to be fixed, but formless and eternal—some kind of version of “the face before you were born.”

But the Origination Point has an emergent quality. It isn’t a fixed point within us that we discover and then come from.

I’ve been revisiting some principles of sacred geometry recently, and what caught my attention was the point. In sacred geometry, the point has no form of its own, yet it is the necessary beginning for form to emerge.

This gave me another way of understanding the Origination Point. It is a point of pure potential from which something can emerge that does not yet have form.

You cannot be in your Origination Point by yourself. We can go deeply within ourselves and experience profound dimensions of unity, emptiness, stillness, or oneness. But the Origination Point we are speaking about is inherently sourced from shared unity. We don’t each find our own point and then meet from there. The point becomes findable in the contact.

We are learning to come from a place that doesn’t exist in separation and doesn’t have a predetermined form. What emerges from there is particular, but its origination is unity.

The Origination Point is emergent; it isn’t fixed. Different contact creates different possibilities. What comes through me with you will not necessarily be what comes through me with someone else. Unity expresses particularly through each of us and through the particular geometry we’re creating together.

It’s not always understandable. But it is findable.

And the more established we become there, the more available we are to the emergence of existence, of evolution itself, as it moves through us.
