Human beings have always been fascinated with pure states of creativity, flow and the ability to become one with what they are doing. Athletes, musicians, lovers, artists, mystics and other kinds of creatives know intimately what flow is and why it is so precious to us. The illusive qualities of genius and true mastery are always displayed within a flow state.
And yet, as individuals we know how difficult it can be to move beyond the inertia of our inner critic, self concern and other egoic tendencies to be free enough to move into flow. Spontaneity and ease can be hard to find.

THE DISTINCTION OF UNITIVE FLOW
For most of us, feeling like we are in a flow state is an elusive, often unattainable, but most welcome state of being. There’s an inertia or extra effort required to break free of the thickness of our egoic patterning that keeps us outside of flow. There is a more direct and reliable way – shared unity.
Below is a recent teaching Patricia Albere did for our Mutual Awakening practice community (we call that community Evolutionary Collective Global) about how shared unity moves us into a permanent flow state, or UNITIVE FLOW.
As we lovingly give our attention to the more subtle dimensions of reality and connectivity with another, a portal opens and we enter into a new world of consciousness, a new kind of existence that is beyond the orientation to the separate self. This shared inner space of unity and mutually awakened reality is a new frontier in consciousness.
The practice of shared awakening, or what Patrica Albere calls mutual awakening, gives us access to unitive flow. Unitive flow is a distinct type of flow that is based in shared unity and gives us access to a larger circuitry where the source of creativity is a divine source. By focusing on another person in a precise way allows us to move beyond being located in our separate sense of self into an effortless resonance with flow.
